Happy New Year everyone!  This year looks to be quite exciting for wrestling fans everywhere with all the major announcements closing out 2009.  Whether you follow wrestling on a global or regional level you’ll want to keep a close eye on the industry in 2010.

SPW already kicked off 2010 with a new episode of SPW iTV that features several matches and over a dozen SPW stars.  This is an episode you don’t want to miss as it features the SPW Heavyweight and Provincial Champions, Zack Mercury, JJ Sanchez, El Bano, Big Jess, Syko and many more.  Watch SPW iTV Episode 11, Season 5 right here on Steeltownprowrestling.ca!

Our first live event of 2010 is right around the corner when we return to Arborg, Manitoba this Saturday January 9th.  We have a several great sponsors for this event which will feature the return of hometown boy Chip “the Kid” Fletcher.  Several matches should be announced in the coming days.

Some internal changes over the holidays as Steeltownprowrestling.ca changed to a new server.  Lucky for us the transition was seamless.  These changes won’t be noticed by our fans but will allow SPW staffers more control over our web content.  A positive change overall.

SPW President Dale Barnett has been doing a lot of consulting with everyone involved in Steeltown Pro as part of his annual strategic planning.  He’s setting some goals for 2010 and one thing is for sure; the main goal is to surpass all the great work and major strides we made in 2009!

This year we will likely see some major milestones in SPW including the crowning of the first SPW Tag Team Champions, the second year anniversary show and our 50th live event (we are 14 shows away!).  I expect SPW to achieve all this within the first half of the year.  Who knows what else!

We have plenty of reasons to be positive about our future here in Steeltown Pro and we want you, the fans, to be right on board with us for the ride.  Hopefully we’ll see you down at the matches!
