SPW kicked off 2010 this past Saturday in Arborg, Manitoba. What a great turn out as it was the biggest Arborg crowd to date. Of course they were there to witness the official in-ring return of hometown boy Chip “the Kid” Fletcher! SPW officials are already working on a return date so stay tuned for those details. Thanks to all the great fans and sponsors for making this night so much fun.
Syko was MIA this past Saturday. We’ll have more on this over the course of the week. He was replaced by Drezden who made his presence known as an interim member of the Family of Darkness. Billy Blaze became number one contender to the SPW Provincial Title. It looks like DOOM and Billy Blaze may be facing off again in the near future. Marius retained his SPW title against Gibby Guerrero. Bad to the Bone continue to establish themselves as THE dominant team is Steeltown Pro. With each passing show I’m being convinced that we are looking at the inaugural SPW Tag Team Champions.
Next on the schedule is Fight Night which takes place this Saturday January 16 in Morden, Manitoba. Pardon the pun but there is a good “buzz” going around Morden regarding this show. This show may very well see the SPW in-ring debut of Jethro Hawg! Steeltownprowrestling.ca is trying to confirm this as we speak. Hawg is playing coy!
SPW President Dale Barnett has suspended Sgt. Tom Steele. That is all we know at this time. The sarge is none to happy about this recent announcement.
Watch SPW iTV as this week’s episode is loaded with all the Steeltown Pro stars. You can watch it on YouTube @ www.youtube.com/steeltownprowrestlin or right here on Steeltownprowrestling.ca. SPW iTV is gearing up to enter into its 6th season!
Hurts So Good 2009 and Christmas Catastrophe are currently in production. These two shows will be released on DVD in the near future so keep your eyes peeled. It looks like volume 2 of the SPW trading card series is as big of a hit as the first. They were selling like hot cakes at the last few shows.
It seems Ike Idol’s knee is doing well and he’s been back in the gym training hard. We’ll be seeing him back in regular action shortly. Ron McLean will be interviewing him this week to see what his comeback plans are.
Speaking of recoveries, I spoke with La Sombra at length on Friday and Saturday. His doctor says that the knee is healing very well thus far. He’s begun to do light training including weights, cycling, swimming and stretching. He’s got his eyes on the prize and can’t wait to be back in the squared circle.
There will be plenty of Fight Night 2010 news over the course of the week. Several SPW wrestlers have expressed excitement about the Morden debut this Saturday. Hopefully we’ll see you at the matches!
Until next time, that’s the buzz…
