Ron McLean caught up with Ike Idol at Don’t Back Down 2010 following his SPW iTV match, his first since being injured last fall.
RM: Ike, let’s start off with the obvious. How is the knee?
II: Well I just finished destroying Alex Shaver. This was my first match since September. The knee still feels a little stiff but it’s a good start. A few more weeks and be back to 100%
RM: What are your plans for 2010?
II: The same as they always have been…hurt people, make money and win championships.
RM: Do you plan on challenging DOOM for the Provincial Title?
II: I’ve been SPW Provincial Champion twice. It’s time for something new and I’m looking at both Marius and Jerin Rose. In 2010 Ike Idol will be TRCW and SPW Heavyweight Champion.
RM: In the past you’ve formed teams with Brian Rich, Kevy Chevy and JJ Sanchez. Any plans for the SPW Tag Team Titles?
II: I do things my way. I don’t need anyone holding me back. If someone was worthy enough to be my partner I’d consider it but frankly, who can hold a candle to “Iron” Ike Idol? No one! I might as well win them by myself.
RM: It would seem you are pretty confident…
II: Once my knee is 100%, which it almost is, there is no stopping me. It won’t be long, mark my words that I’ll be in the main events. No one can stop me, not Jerin Rose, not Matt Fairlane, not Chi Chi Cruz. I’ve got lost time to make up!
RM: There you have it; Ike Idol is back and with a vengeance. We may be looking at the next Heavyweight Champion, folks! |
