In the early 1960’s Luke Williams began a career wrestling working for the NWA New Zealand promotion. During his formative years he met Butch and together they crossed the ocean debuting for Stampede Wrestling as The Kiwis. It wasn’t long before the team captured the Stampede International Tag Team Titles.
Adopting a new name, The Sheepherders, they criss-crossed North America working in all the major wrestling territories and winning tag team gold in Memphis, Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest, Mid-South, Florida and Puerto Rico. Working for Carlos Colon’s WWC in Puerto Rico they captured both the WWC North American and World Tag Team Titles.
By 1989 Butch and Luke were signed by the World Wrestling Federation and renamed The Bushwhackers. During their WWF tenure they appeared on Saturday Night’s Main Event, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. In 1991 Luke set a then WWF record, being eliminated from the Royal Rumble in 4 seconds! In 1994 Butch and Luke appeared as themselves on an episode of Family Matters.
After leaving the WWF, Bushwhacker Luke took on the job of match maker for IWA: Puerto Rico, Carlo’s Colon main competition on the islands. Today Bushwhacker Luke travels the world working for various independent wrestling companies and makes personal appearances at pop culture and comic book conventions. He made his SPW debut on Auugust 20, 2010 and quickly became SPW Provincial Champion defeating SYKO for the coveted title.
His reign was short lived, losing the championship one week later to "Iron" Ike Idol after outside interference by "Beautiful" Bobby Jay with whom Luke has been feuding for the last year and a half.
