SPW Tag Team Title Match
S ‘n R Vs Bad to the Bone (c)

The Challengers: S ‘n R (Alex Shaver & Jerin Rose)

When SPW announced the creation of the SPW Tag Team Titles in 2009, Jerin Rose went out and found himself an unlikely partner.  Fresh out of the SPW Training Academy Alex Shaver was taken under Rose’s wing and the two began training together in preparation for the SPW Tag Team Title tournament.  As a team the two should cohesiveness early on in exhibition bouts, eventually qualifying for the 6-Way Steeltown Showdown Tag Team Title finals at the SPW 2nd Anniversary Show in April 2010.  Considered earlier in the year as underdogs, Shaver and Rose became favourites going into the finals!

Christened “S ‘n R”, Shaver and Rose would make history by becoming the inaugural SPW Tag Team Champions an accomplishment that can never be taken away from them.  The more they teamed, the more the gelled and S ‘n R soon found themselves with a team name, matching ring attire, several tandem wrestling moves and the gold strapped around their waists.  Through the spring and summer of 2010 S ‘n R successfully defended the championships against a plethora of tag teams.

The Champions: Bad to the Bone (Reggie Gallagher & Big Cliff Corleone)

After the demise of the Big Sexy Beasts, Bad to the Bone debuted and quickly became the biggest and baddest tag team is Steeltown Pro.  Dismantling the competition with a combination of size and technical ability, Reggie Gallagher and Big Cliff were odds on favourites to become the SPW Tag Team Championships when the titles where officially created.  Bad to the Bone became one of the first qualifying teams for the SPW Tag Team Title finals and held a distinct size advantage going into the 6-Way Tag Team Steeltown Showdown.  Underestimating the abilities of S ‘n R; Bad to the Bone came up short and failed to capture the SPW Tag Team Titles.

Over the summer of 2010 Bad to the Bone regrouped and set their sights on dethroning Shaver and Rose.  Racking up a series of impressive victories Gallagher and Corleone were awarded a tag team title match against S ‘n R and vowed that this time they would set things right and win what they felt should have theirs in April 2010.  By hook or by crook (and once you see the footage, you’ll know it was by crook) Bad to the Bone defeated S ‘n R to become the second ever SPW Tag Team Champions.

The Match

Upset with the way they lost the SPW Tag Team Titles, Shaver and Rose wasted no time contacting SPW President Dale Barnett to request a re-match.  As new champions, Bad to the Bone made it clear that they intended to be champions for a long time, daring S ‘n R to try and take the titles away.  With a challenge made by S ‘n R and that challenged accepted by Bad to the Bone, SPW President Dale Barnett drew up the contracts and signed the match.

On Saturday November 20th in Selkirk, Manitoba former SPW Tag Team Champion S ‘n R challenge the current SPW Tag Team Champion Bad to the Bone.  With a rivalry dating back more than 10 months, it seems that things are only starting to heat up in the SPW Tag Team Division.
